Types of neck pain
Facet Joints: Facet Joints ​often give you sharp pain in the neck. They often come on suddenly, due to sleeping or twisting the neck. You can usually put your finger on them, but they have a lot of muscle spasm around them
Cervical Discs: Cervical discs often give you pain in between the neck. It is deep aching pain. It may give you pain down your arms, into your shoulders and into your fingers. It may give you pins and needles.
Torticollis/ Wry Neck: You're neck won't move one way, will be pretty stiff restricted, often giving you pain when you bend one way. It's often not due to anything. If you get this is't likely you will have had it before
Posture/ Muscle Sprains: Poor posture will give you tight deep aches in the neck and middle shoulders. Will always feel like there is a knot in the muscles. You may have sharp pain from time to time. Often leaves you feeling tired and fatigued.
Arthritis: Stiffness in the morning, aching in the neck. tight and feeling very restricted. Will often have deep tightness into the shoulders.

Rehab Exercises: We will likely give you exercises to strengthen your neck and upper back to prevent reoccurrence. If you have disc issues you may also get Dural stretches. We find that rehab will help prevent reoccurances.
